More Info:

Dave Tutin is a British-born singer-songwriter who lived for many years in New York. Raised In Vain is thirteen tracks recorded with some of the finest musicians in that city. Larry Campbell - after years on the road with Dylan - is here on pedal steel guitar, mandolin, lap steel and violin. Shawn Pelton, described by Dave as 'the most musical drummer I've ever worked with'. And a host of others including Eric Weissberg. But what brings all these fine players together - superbly produced by Craig Snyder who also adds his eloquent guitar skills - are the songs. A lyricist who in his own words is 'like a young man running in an old man's shoes' Dave's songs quickly explain why such a gifted group of players wanted to help record them. Free with Raised In Vain comes a second, six-track album called Afterthought. With the exception of some deft touches of piano and cello, this is an acoustic set featuring Dave and Craig. Dave was clearly fooling with us when he left out the space - songs like these only come after thought. Serious thought. Dave recently left New York for the peace and quiet of the desert outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico where he is hard at work on the follow-up to this award winning album. In May 2009 Dave was awarded a Gold Medal in the Independent Publisher Book Awards for his limited edition collection of poems - or words to that effect - which is available at amazon.com.
