Neil Brown - Voice/Guitar Justin Bradley - Guitar Jordan Rousseau - Drums Scott Brachmayer - Bass Time has unfolded a calling to four musicians who retreat to the walls of a garage studio to console their ever-growing aggravations with the coined 'real' world. Captive is a four-piece progressive rock band from Oshawa, Ontario Canada. The self-produced 'Mens Rea' E.P. released shortly after the band's conception in late 2007 features 5 eclectic songs aiding to stir a buzz & placing the band's moving sound firmly into the local circuit. Providing infectious grooves draped with insightful lyricism & bringing an innovatively dynamic character to a live setting, Captive has it's sights aimed on truth. Oshawa, like many motor-cities, homes a population distinctly separated based on economic status creating a clash of dense poverty & aristocracy in large segments of the city. The inevitable pitfalls of living within a monetary system perpetuated by greed are apparent under such conditions and have been direct inspiration for songs like 'Beggars & Choosers' & 'Dreams'. Motivated by a collective passion for music & desire for change, these four young Oshawa, ON natives are entering this system set on bringing about awareness & a greater understanding for futures to come. "We aren't trying to change anybody's views or beliefs. We can only hope to present a sense of enlightenment that will promote questioning the reality of nature" Offering more than simple 'redemption songs', Captive strives to capture the living trials of captivity in western civilization & the prevailing mind-altering afflictions of today. Set your captives free. For booking inquiries contact: Sarah Cain 416.706.0522 OR sarahcain143@hotmail.com.
