Digitally re-mastered and expanded edition of this 1979 album including four bonus tracks. Bobbi Humphrey's major-label swan song sees the singer moving further away from her Jazz roots and adding more elements of R&B, Soul and Disco into her sound. Produced by Ralph MacDonald and William Eaton, THE GOOD LIFE can easily be classified as a straight-up R&B record. Humphrey always embraced commercial sounds and sensibilities regardless of Jazz conventions, but on album, she embraces a slick commercial sound. Her skills as a flutist remain exceptional, which gives THE GOOD LIFE the Funky grooves and gossamer textures that buoyed her classic Blue Note sides. While some may have missed her jazzier side, that spirit is still alive and well within these R&B grooves. This expanded edition includes 7" and 12" versions of the singles "Love When I'm in Your Arms" and "Sweet 'N' Low" added as bonus tracks.
